Sunday Summary 002

001 - I've been 'trying' to cut down on my spending lately because I've realised its only January and I need some money for February and March and as I don't have a job I just have to rely on my student loan which sucks alot. I might have to raid my cupboards and wardrobe and find somethings to sell on eBay and hopefully I'll have a few ambassador events on the horizon too.

002 - Yesterday I don't know whether I'm going to regret it or just be happy I purchased the Sigma Travel Kit and Sigma Flat Top Kabuki F80 which came to around £48.50. I really could have done with saving the money but I'm just going to have to suffer with the consequences as in the long run I'm going to get alot of use out of them hopefully.

003 - It seems like I haven't stopped mentioning the fact that this week I decided to turn healthy and go back to the gym. I start university next week so I hope this doesn't affect my motivation and at the end of the day I still have Florida that I'm meant to be saving for and wanting to look my best for.

004 - Went for my weekly dog walk earlier, it started raining and then the mud got worse. Lets just say me and Ruby came back in a little bit of a mess.

I hope you've all had a lovely weekend.
I have a number of posts planned for this week so keep a look out.
I've heard its meant to snow in the next few days :/ fingers crossed it doesn't, if it does I hope you all stay safe!

Tangle Teezer

Tangle Teezer - (Boots) £10.50

Everytime I've walked into my local Boots store I've always been attracted to the Tangle Teezers. I only have short hair so some of you might think 'oh she doesn't have knotty hair and doesn't need one of these.' Wrong. I unfortunately suffer from quite knotty hair especially once its wet and its horrible to try and brush through.
So I thought I would get one of these and use my Boots advantage card points and take advantage of this. I opted for the purple glittery one as I thought it was pretty and didn't really feel attracted to the bright pink one even though I loved them both. (If it was pink and glittery it would have been even more perfect).

The claims:
It is a hair brush like no other, with its uniques flexible teeth configuration, lack of handle and hand-friendly shaped head. The Tangle Teezer gives you the opportunity to apply pressure to your hair as you wish, removing pain and the creation of damaged cuticles cause by dragging bristles through unyielding, un co-operative knots. Through regular use, the product claims to return hair to its natural shine, thickness and body.

So what did I think of the Tangle Teezer.. I first used it after the gym and noticed the different straight away, it fitted into my palm nicely and fitted well, however it felt a little painful as I put it through my hair. Even a few days later its not pain free, so I'm unsure whether it is just my hair or other people have had this aswell. I'm impressed however but the softness of my hair and ease of getting the knots out in comparison to using a traditional hairbrush. I'm still a little unsure of what I think about the product and I'm sure that as I use it over the coming days/ weeks that I should notice a difference, hopefully the pain will ease and as my hair gets longer it will become one of my favourite products.

Do you have a tangle teezer? Do you find it painful? Or a quick and easy solution?

Weekend Wishlist #002

001 Mr Bunny Black Essentials Kit - I really want a proper set of brushes that are professional. MAC brushes are not that affordable for myself and I'd prefer just to pay out for a kit with these brushes in as its $109.00 but turns out to be £65.00ish which isn't too bad for 12 brushes. At the moment I only have a few ELF brushes they are okay but it limits what I can do and they're really just for the basics, plus I'm sure you can never have too many make up brushes. It's just the delivery prices which put me off abit but then again its cheaper than buying them from UK stockists isn't it?
002 Coral Makeup Bag - I love the coral colour of this makeup bag, it's beautiful! One of my favourite colours for the spring/ summer time. I don't think I'd use it as a makeup bag as I got two for Christmas maybe a pencil case for university.

003 Naked 2 Palette - Who doesn't want this palette? I love the original Naked palette but I'm abit put off from paying £36 for it. I love some of the shades as I have quite light skin so they would be nice. Plus some of them are more shimmery than the original palette and I don't really do shimmer during the day. I'm still in two minds whether to buy it.

004 Tartan Drop Back Shirt - I love tartan and I love shirts. I love the colours of this shirt, you can't go wrong with shirts I don't think anyway.

005 and 006 Sigma E25 and F80 - These are the two brushes that I REALLY REALLY WANT. I really want a shader brush to have a smoky eye look on nights out and stuff and just to have a different look every now and then. This is meant to be as good as the MAC version which makes me want it even more. I've also heard such good things about the Sigma Flat Top Kabuki through bloggers and Youtube, I love the ELF Powder Brush but I expect this brush to be 100x better to blend foundation into the skin and for a flawless  look.

Review: No7 Beautiful Skin Foaming Cleanser

This is one of the purchases I made yesterday from Boots, it's the No7 Beautiful Skin Foaming Cleanser.
I bought this product because my skin is normal and I suffer from an oily nose, forehead and skin at times so wanted something to try and help return my skin back to 'normal'. I also had a £5 off voucher and wanted to spend it on something that wasn't makeup. I hate how my face feels after I'd had a face full of makeup all day and wanted to try and have a cleansing and moisturising routine.

I used it last night and this morning so thought I would give you all my initial thoughts on the product. I wet my face using warm water as instructed on the bottle and then put 2-3 pumps of the product into the palm of my hands and massaged it onto my face, I left it a couple of minutes instead of washing it off straight away. I again rinsed my face with warm water and instantly my skin felt softer and smoother. It also smells really nice but isn't fragranced enough for it to irritate by skin which doesn't happen with many products other than the Simple products.

On the bottle it says 'created to help your oily skin behave like normal skin and provide tailored skin nutrition for healthy looking, bright and beautiful skin'. I believe this is what the product does even from two uses. I'm going to look into other No7 products especially at the moment as they are on offer 3 for 2 across makeup and skincare. I really like the product and would recommend it to those with normal/ oily skin. They also have a range for normal to dry skin and dry to very dry skin for those with different skin types. You can read about the No7 Beautiful Skin range here.

Can you recommended any other No7 products? Or are you interested in this range?

Going from Flab to Fab this Summer!

It may seem too early to start this series but I want to share my tips and tricks to you all on how to look great for this summer time, and to try and keep you all updated on how I'm doing, what I'm eating and my motivations to lose weight. I don't like saying 'oh I'm on a diet and want to be a certain weight', I won't be trying all the fad diets out there. I would rather just tone up and lose weight and be able to look at myself in the mirror and feel comfortable with myself and be happy. I will be eating healthy and exercising as I've lost weight before this way and its the best way that works for me. I know I've mentioned this before but I have a big holiday planned for the summer and want to look my best and feel confident in a bikini which I don't at the moment.
Here are just a few 'rules' that I've set up myself in order to try and become healthy and lose weight.

  • No full sugar fizzy drinks.
  • Drink more water.
  • Eat 5 a day.
  • Exercise 2-3 days a week, arms, legs and cardio.
  • No bad snacks.
  • No chocolate.
  • Brown pasta/ bread/ rice where possible.
  • Friendly foods; salad, vegetables and fruit.
  • Get adequate amounts of sleep.
  • When stressed, shut down.
I enjoy pushing myself when it comes to exercise but I always make sure I am in the right frame of mind to do exercise or else I will be demotivated and won't make the most of that hour and half that I'm in the gym. Motivation is one of the key words when it comes to fitness because as soon as the motivation has gone then your going to start piling the pounds back on.

A few weight loss tips are:

  • Fruit and veg are your best friends. They are good for you and will all go towards your 5 a day.
  • Tell people your losing weight. So if you get invited out for a meal with friends you don't have to say no because your worried about what your going to eat. If people know then they'll expect you to get a lighter meal or a salad.
  • Do it for yourself! Don't do it just to please your family, partner or anyone else. You have to make sure your doing it for the right reasons and for you.
  • Make sure you eat in moderation. If you want to eat a few Haribo sweets, do it! Just don't eat the whole packet. Everyone needs a treat every now and then, so don't deprive yourself of what you want.

Things I've Been Doing This Week

On Tuesday night it was the Sheffield Steelers (ice hockey team that I supports), Ladies Night! We got all dressed up and went to the Holiday Inn, had a not so nice meal (the starter was horrible covered in garlic, the main was nice but not really my thing and the desert that I didn't like either) but the players served the food which was fun, an auction which involved them getting topless which was the best part of the night obviously ;) and then a disco, and lots of alcohol. It was a good night but some people got way too dressed up. The second lot of photos are from Saturday night, me, my best friend (Jess) and a few others hit Sheffield and went out for a few drinks and it was great to see people I hadn't seen in a while.
Last of all, my current obsession... TEMPLE RUN! Omg I just can't seem to drag myself away from my iPhone because this game is so addictive and annoying, and I just can't beat the score that is shown above, thats the highest that I've got.
I've also been spending most of my time at the gym this week as I'm on the road to that Florida body, I've been twice this week and I can really feel it, I hurt when I move. But y'know what they say 'NO PAIN NO GAIN' thats my motto right now and I wanna look fab in a bikini in the summertime.

I've now got a list of things to blog about, I like to have lists and be organised because I'm a freak like that. I have a 'whats in my university bag', V05 hair products, Bourjois healthy mix serum, tangle teezer, a few wishlists, my FOTD and maybe a university studying and organisation post. I've realised I need to start taking photos of my actual face rather than just planting random photos and not showing you who I am.

I hope that your having a good Thursday night, I'm currently just feeling like blogging alot because I'm feeling the need to write, kinda missing university.
Do you have anything interesting and fun planned for the weekend? I'm going down south for the weekend to see my Grandad.

Recent Purchases

I've been quite busy the last few days so haven't been blogging in a while but I'll update you all on the things I've been doing another day.

I popped to my local Boots earlier whilst I was going to the gym, I also realised I had a No7 voucher which I wanted to spend. So the first thing I bought was a Tangle Teezer, I'd always heard good things about these products and had been admiring them for a while. Everytime I'd walked into Boots I'd look at them but always walk away without one. I managed to get this for free because I spent my Boots advantage card points. I got the purple sparkly one and used it after the gym and I love it already, it makes my hair so smooth and knot-free.

I also bought the No7 Beautiful Skin Foaming Cleanser, on the bottle it says 'created to help your oily skin behave like normal skin and provide tailored skin nutrition for healthy looking, bright and beautiful skin'. I suffer from oily skin on my T-Zone areas and thought this would be a good product to get, I also had a £5 off voucher and will give a better review once I have used it properly as I only bought it today. I like the look of other products in the range so may have to get some more before the 29th as I have two vouchers that will run out.

Finally I got the Bourjois healthy mix serum, I'd heard great things about this product and after many weeks I thought I would finally buy it. I'd been using the Revlon PhotoReady Foundation and wanted an alternative which would be better for the daytime and so I had a choice of foundations. I've already used a little bit of the foundation just to test it once I got home and it blends in really nice, it feels quite thick but I'm sure it would blend in nicely with a brush rather than fingers.

I made a purchase from ASOS during Monday evening as I'd been looking for a new university bag and couldn't find one that was a nice size in the shops so decided to look online. I've really liked ASOS lately and found the Leather Leopard Print Shopper reduced down from £75 to £37.50. I had been looking at this months ago but really didn't want to spend £75 on it. I received it this morning and its really nice, soft leather and the perfect size.

I hope you've all had a good week so far, I'll review the purchases I made from Boots once I feel that I can give a good review on them.

Sunday Summary 001

001. I started back at the gym this week, it was really tough but I have Florida to look forward to and as my aim for the motivation to lose weight and tone up. I've been trying to eat healthy but I can't think of many other meals which would allow for more variety in my diet, so if you have any meals or snacks to suggest them please comment them below, I would appreciate this alot.

002. On Saturday I was a student ambassador at Sheffield Hallam for a post-offer invitation day. It was the first one that I had done, I wasn't nervous which was strange and in the end I really enjoyed the day. I met some lovely people including students and students coming to Hallam, fingers crossed. I was more confident that I thought I would be, so I'm happy and excited for more.

003. I've been told to start thinking about my dissertation or applied project for my third year! Yes I know its early but I'd rather have an idea for when I start back at university in September. I'm looking to set up a few work experience placements for myself throughout the summer a few days a week just to get the experience and to learn abit more about the role I want to do when I've finished university. I've learnt in the last few weeks that I just need to grab every opportunity whether it means travelling as I'd love to go travelling, see different cities and places, I'd love to go travelling its just having the funds to do it. I want to go to Thailand for a month. I'm thinking of having a year out after university to work out what I want to do and to learn about how people live and different things. It would be incredible.

004. I'm running out of things to blog about :( I have a few ideas but I'm not sure that they would interest people as not everyone. I thank every single one of you that follows my blog and if you don't please do, I'd appreciate it alot. I know I've only just started out and things are rusty but I'm going to try my best to keep this blog running.

I hope you've all had a great weekend, I'm now gonna settle down in my pjs, get ready for Celebrity Big Brother which I've been enjoying this year and then maybe watch 127 hours after it.
It's Monday tomorrow :( booo! Another week and I'll be back at university, finally.

Review: Revlon PhotoReady Foundation

Revlon PhotoReady Foundation £12.99 (Boots/ Superdrug)

So I thought I would give my two cents on the Revlon PhotoReady Foundation.

I've had this foundation for about 4-5 weeks and thought that was a good time period for me to be able to give you a fair and honest review on this foundation. Before I purchased this foundation I'd heard mixed reviews with some people loving it and others hating it, personally I love it.

The one thing that had been holding me back on trying it was the comments I had read regarding the shimmer made by the light-reflecting particles, which had been likened to the effect of Edward from “Twilight” twinkling in the sun.

According to the description on www.revlon.com the foundation:

  • Delivers soft, luminous airbrushed finish in any light
  • Photochromatic pigments bend, reflect and diffuse light to erase every flaw
  • Complete yet undetectable coverage
  • Oil free, Fragrance Free
  • SPF 20
  • Can be used alone or in combination with either the PhotoReady Powder OR PhotoReady Translucent Finisher

Whilst I was in Boots I found it quite difficult to match it to my skin colour and then went for it and purchased it in 'Vanilla'. I always have problems with foundations and buy them too dark so I look really orange. So when I got home I applied this foundation with the Sigma Powder brush, it blended in really nicely and wasn't too orange which I was happy about. The first night I bought it I went out for new years  eve and it stayed on all night, gave good coverage and didn't move with sweat or just the heat of the nightclub.

The PhotoReady foundation has nice packaging and comes with a pump action which is nice, something the ColourStay lacks. It also doesn't have a smell to it like the Revlon Colourstay foundation (I haven't tried this foundation yet).

The only problem with the foundation is that it can't be built up easily as it starts to look cakey and it begins to look very orange even when its blended very well.

Overall I think it makes my skin look airbrushed and gives me good coverage. I like the fact that the bottle has a pump which makes it easier to distribute the foundation around the face and you can work with just a few pumps of the product.

Whats your favourite drugstore foundation? I think the next one I purchase will be the Bourjois Healthy Mix Serum as I've heard really good things about it and one day I may take the plunge and try Estee Lauder Doublewear foundation.

Everyone has numerous things they want to do in life, I've thought about the future numerous times and things I want to achieve and want to do so I thought I'd create a 'bucket list'. Daily makeup.

This is a simple post about what I use on a daily basis for my makeup. It doesn't vary that much, I'm trying to buy more blushers so I have a collection that I can use and change on a daily basis rather than just use one. Also the eyeshadow palette changes, I sometimes use my Urban Decay Naked Palette or the MUA Heaven and Earth Palette or the newest addition to my collection Sleek Au Naturale Palette.

I apply my Revlon Photoready Foundation first, using a ELF Powder Brush (I highly recommend!) and then apply then use Collection 2000 Lasting Perfection Concealer under my eyes and on any blemishes. I then apply Benefit Erase Paste over the top to conceal my undereye circles a little bit more.
Next I apply my blusher (I try and wear a different blusher each day), I like Natural Collection Peach Melba and MAC Dainty. I lightly powder my T-zone and face with Vivo Face Powder. I then use ELF Brow Kit in Light on an ELF Small Angled Brush to shape and fill in my eyebrows before using Loreal Superliner in Carbon Gloss on my top eyelids and finish with Maybelline One by One Mascara.

I hope you've all had a great weekend and enjoy the rest of your week!

What's in my bag?

River Island floral purse, Ted Baker make-up bag, Iphone 4, cherries umbrella, Impulse body spray, hairbrush, Extra chewing gum, Kylie Minogue Sweet Darling perfume, mittens, gym key, USB pen, housekeys, collection of papers and receipts. (I also normally have my 2011/ 2012 diary and iPod classic in there too)

I had to do a 'whats in my bag?' post because I love these posts, being nosey and seeing what other people carry in there bags, no idea why but I do. Yes I'm strange, but I know these posts are popular. I had one of these on my old blog so I thought I'd update it and show you the latest collection of things in my bag.
Some people might find this utterly boring (apologies) but I hope you enjoy looking into my bag and having a look around!

The handbag itself is from H&M, I bought it at Christmas time and it was £19.99. It's a great size and I manage to fit everything in I need on a daily basis. It has a small strap and a long strap and drawstrings on the top which is how the bag does up, basically its a duffle bag.

Do you enjoy reading 'whats in my bag?' posts? Do you like to carry a bag full of things or are you more of an essentials kinda girl?

Review: Revlon Blush Lipstick

Revlon Colorburst Lipstick in Blush (Boots) £7.99

Revlon Colorburst Lipstick in Blush Shade (035), I picked this up from Boots when it was £5.00 but I think they're gone back up to full price now :(

I love this pinky nude shade it looks lovely on the lips. It's not drying or sticky on the lips which is always a good thing. It's an easy shade to wear and shows up really well on the lips with just one application on the lips.

It has great staying power too which is always good when it comes to lipsticks.

The packaging on the lipstick is so nice and sleek.

Like I said before, I'm definately going to be picking up more Revlon lipsticks, its just the price which puts me off because £7.49/ 7.99 is quite alot but in comparison to Mac lipsticks ar £13.50 it is really good.

Can you recommended any other Revlon lipsticks to add to my collection?
ox

Also some days I've been putting up 2 posts a day and I'm wondering if people would want me to put one up daily instead of two in one day?

Topshop Wants

I have a giant wishlist of clothes, bags, shoes and accessories I want right now! I thought I'd show you just a few of the things I wouldn't mind getting my hands on and coincidentally they're all from Topshop (ooops)

001 Knitted Mix Striped Hoody - There's nothing better than a slouchy hoody to wear in the winter or just to shove on in the spring/ summer time when the evenings gone cooler. This hoody is a little different to the  usual Topshop ones, I already have a black one and LOVE it so much, its so soft and fits just right.
002 Neon Rose Blush - I've been lusting over the Topshop blushes for so long and need to buy one, for £6 they're great value for money and I've heard good reviews about them. The colour of this one is beautiful.
003 Studded Slippers - I think everyone has these shoes! I love them so much, they're different and beautiful.
004 Leopard Print Leather Bag - WOW leopard print and leather. This bag couldn't get any better, it looks just the right size for day to day and looks like it would fit all my university things in and everything else I normally have in my bag.
005 Chintz Floral Dress - This dress could be dressed up for an evening time, worn during the daytime in the winter with black tights or worn in the summer with sandals. It's such a versatile dress. The print is adorable aswell, the only negative about it is the racerback.
006 War Paint Nail Polish - The colour of this is incredible, so bright and lovely.

Whats on your want list?
I hope your all having a great week!

Yesterday I finally handed in the two assignments that I'd been doing over Christmas. I lacked so much motivation to do them but 3,500 words later they're finished. I also got grades back from before Christmas and was so happy with them, especially as it was my actual public relations module. I've always been a B/C kinda girl and never actually managed to get the A/ A*'s and in the last year and a half I've always been between 55-64 in my university marks which is incredibly frustrating but I was 3 marks off a first, so it was a high 2:1 which I'm so happy about. Gotta keep working to get that 1st :)

Florida

For my 21st this year we're going to Florida, yes Disneyland Florida. I am majorly excited, I have always loved Disney and spending my 21st there will be the most amazing time ever. It has come around so quickly as we booked it in June last year and we're going in August this year (19th-3rd September).

Its costing alot of money to go there for two weeks, we have tickets to all the parks in Disney as we're staying there, tickets to Orlando studios, water-parks and all the other touristy places in Florida.

I haven't been abroad ever, I haven't ever been on a plane and I haven't sat on a plane for 10 hours before. Lets just say I'm a little bit nervous, anxious as well as excited because of what will be at the end of the flight.

Basically these post are going to be about my preparation for the holiday eating healthy, losing weight, plans we have and just asking you if we have any recommendations of places to eat, places to visit and other things. I'm hoping theres going to be an expert out there that follows this blog and will tell me everything I need/ want to know and will answer all my questions.

Me.

I thought todays post could be a little bit more about me, the things I enjoy and the motivation that I have for this blog.

My name is Jodie Louise and I'm 20, (born on the 23rd August 1991 to be more specific). I'm from Sheffield in the United Kingdom. I'm currently in my second year of university and I'm studying an undergraduate BA Hons in Public Relations and Media. It's always been my desired career path to work in the Media which many teachers thought was pointless at college but he was a boring, 60+, ICT lecturer. I'm extremely passionate about what I want to do and about the industry that I want to work in.
I also have a lovely boyfriend called Danny and we've been together 5, going on 6 years and an American Bulldog (she's as soft as a brush) called Ruby who is 2 years old.

I Like..
Ice hockey, photography, long walks, summer, winter, autumn, books, new bedsheets, blogging, magazines, IKEA, cupcakes, make-up, clothes, shopping, cute things, foxes, owls, ducks, Hello Kitty, Disney, cushions, oversize hoodies, chippy chips, dr pepper, chinese takeaway, cup of tea, tumblr, aos, floral prints, iphone, glitter, Koppaberg, nights out, nights in, Inbetweeners, the Lion King, Boofles, being the little spoon, the Body Shop, Cath Kidston, snuggling, kisses on the forehead, snuggles, Marc Jacobs perfumes, Primark shopping sprees, music, iPod, walks in the woods, jewellery, roller-coasters, Starbucks, youtube videos, peter pan collars. <3

Ice hockey..
Yes I am a girl and girls aren't mean to like sport but ice hockey is my favourite thing in the world. I am a season ticket holder to my local team 'Sheffield Steelers' and have been for around 13 years. I started going to watch my team before I can remember and had a little spot that I would sit in with my pic 'n' mix from Woolworths. I have visited so many different cities which I wouldn't have done if I didn't have this hobby, places ranging from Nottingham to Cardiff, Coventry to Basingstoke, London to Teeside and my favourite place Edinburgh. I have gained so many friends thanks to this hobby aswell, its not just a way to enjoy the sport that I enjoy but a way to socialise and get to know people who love the same thing as me. It's a minority sport and attendances have dropped, but if you have a local ice hockey team in your area, then GO! You may hate it, you may love it but just experiencing a match for the first time will start a love affair. I introduced my boyfriend to ice hockey and ever since he's been hooked, he used to attend football but seems to favour ice hockey over football, theres more action, no men rolling on the floor for no reason, fights, action, atmosphere. I just love it.

This blog is a place where I can write about my thoughts, opinions, ideas, photography, reviews, loves, wishlists and just my life in general. A record of all the things I like and a place to keep them altogether, kind of like an online scrapbook. There might be personal posts, there will be reviews, the main thing about the blog is that I enjoy writing it and it shows who I am and what I enjoy. If I have 1 follower or 1000 followers I will keep posting and the exciting part of the blog is going to be watching it grow and develop into something bigger. I thank you all so much who currently follow me and your the inspiration for this post and will be for many others.

Thank you for reading this post, its abit longer than I thought it would be but I just started to ramble once I got going. I hope you all know me a little better, if there is anything else you want to know or if you have any questions leave a comment below or email me on jodielouise.ox@gmail.com.

Review: Benefit Erase Paste

At first the price of the product put me off, as I'd purchased many concealers in the past hoping that they would cover my dark circles and I'd never used any Benefit products so I wasn't sure whether it would be worth it. Then I took the plunge and spend my money and its one of the best purchases I have ever made cosmetics wise.

I suffer from bad black circles under my eyes and it covers them up instantly and manages to make under my eyes look brighter. I use the medium shade and it matches both my skin tone and my foundation. A little goes a long way with the product too, I was quite shocked at first by how little you actually need.

The consistency of the product is amazing.

The product really is a miracle worker and I would recommened buying the product if you don't already own it. It can be purchased at www.benefitcosmetics.co.uk, Boots, House of Fraser, Debenhams and other Benefit stockists for £19.50.

Review: Sleek Au Naturale Palette

Sleek Au Naturale Palette (Superdrug) £6.50

I haven't tried any of the Sleek palettes before and had been trying to get my hands on this one for a long time and everytime I went to my local Superdrug they'd never had it in stock. Luckily I managed to pick one up and oh I love it so much.

The colours ate all perfect for daytime and for night-time which is perfect, at first I wasn't too keen on the darker colours as I thought they may have been too pigmented but they are fine and can be easily blended to make them lighter and great for a smokey eye.

I did unfortunately find some of the lighter shades too chalky and felt they weren't very pigmented.

It is great value for money, the eyeshadows are easy to use and blendable. However it is a great palette, worth the money especially for the darker shades.

Do you own any other Sleek palettes or products that you would recommend?
I hope you've all had a great weekend

Weekend Wishlist #001

001. Crème Brûle Vaseline - I love the smell of this product and I use vaseline all the time. It's also limited edition which makes me want it even more, I'm gonna have to get my hands on it. It retails at £2.99 which is quite alot for a little tub of vaseline I suppose.
002. Revlon lipsticks - These were just two of the shades which caught my eye, however I can't remember which shades they are. If I'm correct one of them is 'Pink in the afternoon' and the other is 'Cinnamon Bronze'. I love Revlon lipsticks so much, so I want to add to the collection.
003. Tweezerman ladybug print - I've wanted a pair of Tweezerman's for so long, I asked for some for Christmas but never got any. So I'm gonna take the plunge and purchase some with my long awaited student loan which I'm surprised hasn't all been spent yet, but the print is just so cute.
004. Amazon Kindle - I think everyone has one of these right now! They're just so much easier for travelling and even though I love to have a hard copy of a book using this would be so much easier and I could read it back and forth from university and if I'm just stood/ sat waiting around for a lecture or a seminar.
005. Girl With the Dragon Tattoo - I've heard alot about these books and the film has just been released so I want to see the film first before I get the book incase I don't enjoy it.
006. Mac Lipstick in Creme Cup - I've seen alot of blog posts and Youtube videos about Mac lipsticks and this one seems to be one of the favoured ones, the colour is so pretty but I might see if I can find an alternative because of the £13.50 price tag.
007. Yankee Candle Christmas Cupcake - Yes I know Christmas is over but I burnt the smaller version of this candle over Christmas and OMG it smelt so nice and I loved it so I want to buy the bigger version of it.

What's on your wishlist this weekend?

New Girl

Uber excited for this to start tonight in the UK 'New Girl" staring Zooey Deschanel.

It will be aired on Channel 4, 8.30-9pm

She is such a babe and is currently my girl crush! The best thing about her is that she can sing AND act. I loved the 'She and Him Christmas album because she was involved mainly. I also loved her in ELF, 500 days of Summer and Yes Man.

Here is a brief overview of 'New Girl'
Jess - a bubbly offbeat teacher who is known to burst into spontaneous song - catches her boyfriend with another woman, and needs a new place to live. She moves into a loft with three single guys she's never met before. Nick is a jaded law-school dropout, who usually just wants to be left alone. Schmidt is an flashy businessman, who believes he is a gift to women. Winston is a former athlete who doesn't know what to do, but really needs to win whatever it is. Can this dysfunctional group handle the "adorkable" new girl?

and if you've missed it here's the trailer: NEW GIRL

Will you be tuning in and watching New Girl tonight on Channel 4?
Alternatively you could watch Sky Sports 2 and see my sports team the Sheffield Steelers take on the Coventry Blaze, live at 7pm.

Review: MAC Creme D'nude

Mac Creme D'nude (Mac/Debenhams) £13.50

This is the first MAC lipstick I have ever purchased, infact its the first Mac product I have and I'm glad I decided to add it to my make-up collection. I'd be debating for a few weeks which shade of Mac lipstick to get and whether or not to actually make the purchase. I saw that Debenhams had 10% off the beauty products on the website, so I decided to go for a Mac lipstick, it was £12.15 incomparison to the £13.50 price tag. The shade I went for is Creme D'nude.

The cremesheen texture is great, it is so moisturising and leaves your lips with a glossy finish, it also leaves your lips feeling amazing and makes them look so nice. At first I was worried that the shade wouldn't suit me and I should have gone for something a little pinker but I LOVE it! I absolutely love the shade and couldn't recommend it enough

I'm definitely going to be purchasing more Mac lipsticks in the future and more Mac products.
What other products would you recommended to a Mac newbie? Whats your favourite MAC lipstick?

Review: Revlon Mauve it Over

Revlon Matte lipstick in Mauve it Over (Boots/ Superdrug) - £7.49

Revlon Matte lipstick in Mauve it Over, Shade (003). I picked this up from Boots for £5, when they are normally £7.49 which was a nice surprise when I went to the till.

I am absolutely in love with this lipstick.

I don't normally go for 'matte' lipsticks as they don't feel as moisturising on the lips but this feels so nice and doesn't dry out the lips either. I've used it on top of Vaseline or vice versa and its stayed put.

It's also got great staying power.

I love the shade its a such a beautiful colour. Its a nude, but not too nude like some lipsticks I feel for my skin-tone and it looks so pretty on the lips.

I also love how the package represents the lipstick as the packaging is a matte feel.

I'll definately be going out and buying more Revlon lipsticks to add to my collection.

Do you have any Revlon lipsticks or others that you can recommend that are similar to this shade?

(I've also been naughty and picked up another Revlon lipstick when I went this evening but will post about that another day!)
